We're here because of people like you. I am so happy to be launching Alpha here in San Francisco. It is such a pleasure to be in Charlotte, and now we're opening in Santa Barbara, and Orange County, California, Scottsdale, Arizona, Raleigh, Chantilly, Virginia, New York City, Palm Beach, Plano, and Fort Worth, Texas. At Alpha, we have three commitments. So here's the number one commitment that we have. What is it? Love school! When kids love school, it allows us the ability to have these kids do incredible things. 95% of our students say they love school. Alina, do you love school? Yes. We do this every single session, and this is from our whole Alpha school. So our second commitment, what is it? 2X! We commit that students will learn twice as fast in only two hours a day. We're taking kids in the 99th percentile, and we are having them grow at 80 plus percentile. Artificial intelligence is enabling us to create these learning plans. What do you do with the rest of the day? And that leads us to our third commitment. Which is that our students are learning life skills. This is what we're able to spend all of our time in the afternoons doing. Life skills workshop, public speaking and storytelling, financial literacy and entrepreneurship, teamwork, communication, leadership, grit, dealing with failure. So I'm a fierce advocate for students. Alpha is going to be pivotal. The best of education happens with adults that are actually trained about motivation How do you actually empower behavior change and performance? If we really believe kids are limitless, then the job of a school is to build an environment that unlocks their potential. How amazing it is to have an adult in your life when you're so malleable to tell you that you are limitless. You have the potential to do anything. When I learned that Alpha was leveraging technology in this way and freeing up teachers to do what we do best, getting to know your kids, encouraging your kids, coaching your kids, I knew that this was the future of education. I love to hear about how you keep kids focused. It's the motivational models. We're able to take all of the information that they're giving us about who they are as humans and use that to help motivate them. How do you delegate the balance between challenging the students, but also supporting them? What that looks like is figuring out what their motivational path is. It's either A, there's a confidence issue, an insecurity where they're afraid of failure, or B, don't see the benefit of the learning. They can't connect it to their life. How do politics and religion influence your curriculum? They don't. Do you take kids with ADD, learning disorders, or kids on the autism spectrum? Yes. We have children that have learning differences like dyslexia or dysgraphia, kids with ADD or ADHD. What we find is that as long as the severity of that is kind of 50th percentile or below, kids can work really, really well. Traditional school environment, if a kid's not thriving, it's considered sort of the kid's fault. At Alpha, we take the opposite approach. If a kid is not thriving, it means that our guides have not figured out that motivation connection. I'll be honest and say that over the years, learning about Alpha, I was very skeptical. Is this real? Y'all, it's real. And it's unbelievable to see what students, what learners are able to accomplish in this environment. Growing up, a lot of things that people would say when I tell them about my school is they'd be like, there's no way that you're actually learning academics. Well, like she said, she goes to Stanford, I go to Vanderbilt. That just proves that even though we're having so much fun at school and doing all of these life skills, we obviously did decently well in our academics. She had a perfect SAT score. I started out in Alpha when I was in first grade, so I am the OG. I've been through it all. One thing that I will say is that all of you guys are really awesome parents and your children are incredibly lucky that you're even here considering something this cool. Hi, I'm Alina and I'm a level one student in Alpha. A lot of schools are like, you're at this level and this is where you're going to be and this is where you're going to be for the rest of the year. But in Alpha, she's able to soar. We know that our kids are spending so much time at school, they're not really learning life skills. So I just think this is brilliant. I don't really think they're learning a whole lot going to traditional schools, but I think this is a great alternative. I wish more schools would adapt that teachers are guides. Seeing it in person and how passionate it is, I hope the whole world can embrace it one day. I came tonight because I think Alpha is the most significant advance in education that's happened probably ever. We sent our two boys to Austin. The first day they were there, they called me up and said, Mom, it's an amazing camp. We love the teachers, there's so much enthusiasm. And my other son just texted me right now and told me, Mom, can we go to school next year? I came tonight because I heard a lot about Alpha. Kids enjoying school and just having a great time. At my current school, I hate school. And I just want to be able to love school and love everything I do. Mackenzie talked about how it took two years for her girls to go from these energetic, interested in everything little human beings to not wanting to go to school. My daughter is going into third grade, and that's exactly what happened this last year. She didn't want to go to school and had stomach aches and was crying, and as a mom, that just breaks my heart. And to see an opportunity to have a school where kids are excited to go and are choosing to go over vacations or to continue through the summer and not take a summer break is just like the opposite of that, you know?
